One Battery To Rule Them All? PD Nation's Universal Battery
The concept of the universal battery is appealing if nothing more than to save the consumer money by not being tied to a single platform but having batteries that work on all of them. So does Ceenr's PD Nation deliver on that potential?

Milwaukee's Best Jig Saw - M12 Fuel Jig Saw
POWER = SPEED
The main question and most important is: ,,Wich one is the most reliable among these tools"?
Is this m18 the same has the 3650-21p from home depot ? $99 sound like a good deal for me
Nah..
xph 16 is the only model has metal gear housing. i broke my xph 12 gear and my friend broke xph 14 gear was pretty new , wish own a milwaukee system
I think there good tools
A balance of power, reliability, and longevity. Milwaukee Gen 4 does not cut it. TTC has gone through like 5 of these.
Honestly I've stopped caring about more powerful impact drivers, because for the occasional 3/8th bolt idc how fast it is and if I'm doing lots of bolts then an impact wrench will do the job better every time. I would take something fast hitting over something hard hitting that just annihilates regular screws like the metabo hpt tri hammer, or something lighter like the m12 fuel or even something like the skil 12v
Now gotta recharge the battery in order to cut that a 2nd time lol
Nope. They sell high capacity 12v battery. But there is a smaller 4-1/2” saw anyway.
I couldnt imagine needing a more powerful impact than my milwaukee. Switched from dewalt and never looked back! Too bad yellow is my favorite color lol
Honestly they're all too powerful at this point. They're basically quarter inch impact wrenches. My m12 fuel is my impact of choice, because anything it can't handle I'm just grabbing an impact wrench anyways
Aye doesn’t matter just use what ever gets the job done ✔️ and its reliable All these company’s is the shit just diff logos now a days.
Milwaukee has a new motor coming, and it's not good for the competition. Now, if they could go back to the quality they had 10 years ago.
instead of getting longer with your screws you should have gotten thicker.
Well, Milwaukee just made an m12 impact gun that does 550 ft lbs so I think there will be no competition once that technology is applied across the board.
Ur a little confused this video is talking about impact drivers no impact driver in the world has over 200 ft pounds
A concise, simple, and fair comparison. Thanks for putting in th3 effort!
It is the way you layout your testing that makes me come to your channel for informed purchasing & knowledge of operation/function with these tools. When comparing specific drills/impacts against the competition or "familial" testing, you go back to that tool after each test of competition ( as opposed to doing a single demonstration with a tool). You even preface the testing by demonstrating a quick run-through of a tool & its capabilities & features. There's no fluff.... just a dude in his shop - tinkering with tools! You share your bias(es) & don't allow them to influence or dictate the tests or the results. Your videos are not speed-centric or power-centric ( speed & power are simply attributes &/or features of the tool). There are no odd-ball promos or paid "results"; nothing about your videos feels/seems contrived. As unfortunate & bass-ackwards as it is, those types of channels seem to have the bigger followings. It makes ZERO sense & I'm beginning to think that the movie 'Idiocracy' was/is some type of hind-sight documentary/ Definitely appreciate all of* these things as well as the time/effort they require!
The 860 looks awesome, but IMO, the impact driver power arms race has reached ludicrous levels beyond usefulness. I’m much more curious about the new dewalt 8ah battery and what that does for tool performance.
I have pre ordered an 8ah with the new DCD1007 and I am hoping I’ll have that around the middle of the month. The impact was supposed to ship around the 9th and it’s coming a few days early so I am hoping the drill is the same way. As for the power race it’s something I plan to address in terms of how useful the impact is when not as full beans.
@@TinkerWithTools Cool! From what I’ve seen the 1007 is the one drill/driver to rule them all. All I mean by the impact arms race comment is they’re getting so powerful the 1/4” bits are snapping on large fasteners and the difference on small fasteners is so negligible as to not matter. Drills are faster for sinking large fasteners anyway. That would be a good video: Speed comparison between the 860 and the 1007. You’ve probably thought of that though. 😁
Nope. The DeWalt still can't hang. It's sad really.
Have you used the new one or are you just referring to videos you have seen?
I can’t wait to see
Same!
Dewalt has no chance milwaukee still top dog flex to new and big framed ain't fitting that flex in any tight corner or between rafters
The flex has its places and as for being too new we are at 3 years at this point. I feel you are getting to the point of knowing what you are getting from them.
@TinkerWithTools yeah flex is still a great tool and they do have their place just like ryobi they have a place may not be the greatest like milwaukee lol but they all got a place
@TinkerWithTools yeah flex is still a great tool and they do have their place just like ryobi they have a place may not be the greatest like milwaukee lol but they all got a place
The dewalt will be better tag me in the video
Depends on what tests you put them through. Flex is really impressive, but it's got 33% more volts. Those batteries make the tool way too big for me to use as a hvac service tech. I rarely touch my m18 fuel tools because my m12 fuel tools are more compact, weigh less, and have plenty of power.
I have always found a useful correlation between volts and extra performance in impact drivers. In the Makita and Metabo HPT comparisons where they have 18 and 36/40 volt options I have often found the 18 volt models to do better in testing.
It's actually only 20% more, they just go by peak voltage vs nominal. The flex is actually a 21.6v architecture, so is kobalt (the sister brand to flex) think if it like dewalt/craftsman 20v. Back in the day we used to have the 14.4v compact tools because those batteries dropped a cell. Now they just get enough power out of the 10.8v tools, aka the 12v tools
thanks
You’re welcome.
Milwaukee is cheap quality now
miluwakee was never “top quality” just currently one of if not the best performing brands. Best quality is probably hilti or makita. But they preform like a 2012 miluwakee.
and personally i’d rather buy a new $300 set every 3 years and do my work x2 faster and make way more money since im wayy more efficient than use a $300 set for 10 years.
I lost it when you said Makita.@@jacobjohnson2948 Milwaukee is great but their impact hammer drill chucks are terrible. Always having a wobble so i always change them out for Rohm. For going to reinforced concrete i always use my trusty old Hilti TE 15. That thing will go trough anything.
Interestingly, if you are anal enough (me) and read the fine print on Dewalt’s site, the 794 delivers 404 UWO vs 552 for the DCD799. BUT the fine print for the 794 says with a 2 AH battery and the 799 says with a 3 AH battery. This could account for the higher specs on the 799 but I guess your tests show an actual difference.
Another view was looking at the parts diagrams and they have different motors I believe.
Rainbow 🌈 tool collection is the only way to go for the best of the best tool collections.
I don't understand why they don't just call it Hitachi. I'll stick with my german made Metabo drills. It's hard to beat the cordless alliance system, where you can purchase tools from twenty different manufacturers that use a single interchangeable battery.
I’m sure they had reasons… not sure they were good reasons. I would have gone with Hikoki personally. Same name everywhere. As for Metabo, they are great tools but their availability is limited where I live.
I want all of them 😂
The 173 is the ultimate impact
I don't think a contractor is going to choose one or the other because , Oh one drives a 3" GRK 1 second faster than the other, I have both and one is just as good as the other. I am pretty much a fan of all Major Brands of Power tools.
Now get your hands on the latest Milwaukee m12 Fuel impact gun that is rumoured to be able to do 500 ft lbs, supposed to be release this Summer 2024.
I plan on buying it but I don’t have a lot of great ways to test impact wrenches currently so I’ll have to see what we can come up with.
The Freak is good for its price and the quality is awesome considering it's capabilities of 350ft lbs for the top model, good for DYI and occasional Automotive use . FREAKINGLY AWESOME!😃 Lol
Which model are you seeing with 350 ft-lbs? The top that I am aware of has 1860 in-lbs which equates to 155 ft-lbs.
@@TinkerWithTools just watched him test up to 375 ft lbs, took about 10 seconds to free the bolt I think 1860 C , the one with speed and Torque settings, having 1/4 inserted in hole probably helps , less stress in 1/2 Chuck.
Excellent video!
Thank you very much!
Just got one of them dewalt 12vs from a garage sale for 40 bucks still in the box and everything none of my batteries fit because i didnt read the box...... cant wait till i can get some batteries for it probably going to pay 2x as much than i paid for the saw 😅
That’s stinks that it wasn’t the one you thought it was. With their 12v lineup Lowe’s will often do a deal where you buy a battery starter kit with a 5 and a 3ah and then you get a free tool with it. That might be a good way to get the best battery for and make the most of your purchase.
I have that same problem now cutting walnut. Im about to upgrade 👍
I bought the Bosch and I like the the way it feels in my hand. I think it is better at getting into tight spaces. I have larger drills that will stand upright, but frankly I am using the small 12v Bosch more than I would have predicted. Never had a problem with drill bit retention. The offset feature actually works very well. It is actually very good at driving pocket hole screws into awkward places. The Milwaukee might be a good choice, but I am sure I paid far less for the Bosch on sale. The Dewalt drill looks like it is too big for the stuff I use my Bosch to complete.
Fair point. The traditional style drills fit into certain spaces the Milwaukee with its font guard won’t.
I find this suspicious, I have a Milwaukee and one of the guys that works with me has the Dewalt and his Dewalt always beats my Milwaukee when we use the same comparable battery, you say you used the same battery on three drills but not on the Milwaukee why and what did you use 🤔
All of these were tested on then 2.0 ah battery. I would recommend running the drill on the larger 4/5/6 ah battery to really unlock its performance though.
The yoke swivel style ratchets are unbeatable in these sizes.
As a general contractor i use a 1/4" impact literally every day of my life. Like many of you who read this comment, I have at least a few models from every decent manufacturer you could possibly name. That said, i kind of settled in on the triple hammer a few years ago due to its phenomenal accurate speed control, compact size and the ability to do just about anything i need it to very well. So of course i grabbed a Bolt when they hit the local market and i have to say that it's extremely impressive.... It's smaller than the already very compact OG triple hammer and it faster and stronger. Just a beast of a little impact. And the hard case it came in is top notch
Should I buy this or wait for the new 7/14 circle saw any tips ?
Tough call. Compared to the old blade right I would choose this but I will be buying and testing the new blade right as well. I think I will still prefer blade left so without the rear handle I think I would choose but that’s mostly personal preference. I do think the blade right 7 1/4 will be more powerful but I don’t feel this one is lacking for the work I do either.
Well, maybe there isn't much difference between the 6 1/2 and 7 1/4, we'll have to wait, I'll decide on the most powerful one.
I am guessing the 7 1/4 will be more powerful
Gonzo
These newer brushless Hercules tools are great and now an even better value. I love my impact!
Yeah the combo kit pricing is almost $100 off what you can get it for a la carte.
Got a brand new m12 and can’t get the church off after I got the screw out
Do you mean the clutch or the chuck? Just trying to understand what you are trying to do.
Difference between left n right side saws? For right hands?
When it comes down to it, it's preference for the most part but there are a few things. For right handers, when you have a blade right saw, visibility can be impeded just because the motor/blade guard/handle are all in the line of sight potentially. With blade left, that isn't the case. For left handers, it would be reverse. The other key feature is that on blade right saw, they will often eject dust to the right, away from you. On a blade left, depending on the model, it could be coming right back at you. For me it just comes down to the better line of sight being the winning feature that I feel enables me to make better cuts.
@@TinkerWithTools honestly I never used a left side blade saw, I learned with a right side blade all my time framing…. Been used to it and cut perfect now. I do see that left side will be able to see better but saw dust in the eyes and directly at you would sound stupid to me… but hey I guess so
Am I causing harm if I don't use the bit piece?
I won't profess to be an expert but i can't think of any harm. if there is any difference I would say it might be more performance related but I haven't noticed anything specific.
I bought the CXS 12, and returned it after one day. That high-pitched whine is excruciating! I also did not like the electronic clutch. In my testing, on setting one, it buried the head of a couple drywall screws in a 2x4 without the clutch ever engaging. (Most stopped about an inch proud on the same 2x4 with the clutch on setting one) I'm not taking any chances on ruining a piece of furniture because the clutch didn't engage. I just ordered the original version with a good old fashioned mechanical clutch, and now I see why they are still going for full price! There must still be a demand for them.
You aren't the first to mention it but I guess it just didn't bother me. The clutch has been dead consistent for me as well.
The Williams (Snap-on) version is 1/3 the price. Made in USA, comes with snap-on bits.
Railer makes a great 5 piece quick change version of this for 18$ now, you’re not just limited to the silicone grip ones anymore. I’ve tried the cheap ones on Amazon and even when they’re on sale for 6$ I’d take the 18$ railer brand every time, the quality is just so much better.
As an HVAC tradesmen I like the surge better for service calls and a few odd jobs here and there, it’s perfect for doing inspections and maintaining a quiet work place, specially with elderly people around, to me it feels more professional. The Gen 3 non Surge Driver is more suitable for full-on medium duty jobs where sound suppression or subtleness is not a necessity
It's probably tripping a short circuit or overload protection when using the 1 1/4" bits. Stalling out an electric motor is going to draw a huge current, and a higher capacity battery isn't going to fix that issue... only a higher power (or cell c-rate) will fix that. When they support PD100W charging, that's a good indication of when it will be capable.
It doesn't have anything to do with a battery c rate, just their electronics is setup too sensitively
if they do festool, I'll consider it.
That would be interesting. I would be open to buying some festool bare tools.
